Hayle boss Reynolds explains quit decision

Anthony Reynolds has revealed how work commitments led to his decision to stand down as Hayle manager at the weekend, after three seasons at Trevassack Park. Changes at Cornwall Council, where Reynolds works, meant he would not have been able to dedicate as much time to the South West Peninsula League club. And it was with a 'heavy heart' that he informed the club on Saturday evening of his decision to stand down. He said: "It was a very difficult decision to make, and one made with a heavy heart. There have been changes at work and I'm not sure how much time I would have been able to give to football. I've only had one year off in 13 years (having also managed Troon and Holmans) and I think this the right time." Reynolds took over from John Dent as Hayle boss in 2010, but after finishing bottom in his first year, he has steadily improved the club's fortunes, guiding them to 13th in 2011/12 and last season they finished a respectable 10th. * Full story in this week's Cornishman and West Briton.
