Two men have been charged with arson in relation to a fire at a house in Penventon Terrace, Redruth, in October last year. Julian Ward, 42, and Nathan Sully, 24, have been jointly charged with arson with intent to endanger life. Both men are from Redruth.
Officers were called shortly before 10pm on Saturday 22 October 2011 following a call to the Fire Brigade reporting a fire and loud bangs. An end-terrace property was extensively damaged, with costs running into tens of thousands of pounds. Fortunately, no-one was injured in the fire.
An investigation was conducted jointly between Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service and Devon & Cornwall Police, which subsequently led to arrests and the charges, announced by police on Friday.
The men are due to appear at Truro Magistrates' Court on 11 November 2012.
