A 30-year-old man on a stag weekend was rescued from cliffs at Newquay on Saturday afternoon.
The man was part of a coasteering group, climbing on cliffs, when he fell 30 feet and was unable to climb back up.
Emergency services were alerted and an ambulance crew established that the man was inaccessible. A helicopter was called from the Royal Marines Base at Chivenor in Devon. A Sea King from 22 Squadron was dispatched, the man was winched to safety and taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro.
Coasteering is a relatively new adventure sport involving a combination of climbing, cliff-jumping and swimming.
