Staff and students at Saltash.net Community School have handed £500 to RNLI lifeguards, which they raised following a beach activity day with the charity.
Earlier in the summer, more than 200 pupils from the school visited Sharrow beach at Whitsand Bay to take part in a pre-organised activity day with the RNLI lifeguard team and RNLI education volunteers.
The event included a rescue demonstration, beach safety talks and a host of fun beach games.
As a result of the activity day the school managed to raise £500 for the charity.
James Millidge, RNLI Youth Education Manager in the South West, said: "We are so grateful to everyone at Saltash.net Community School for working so hard to raise a fantastic amount of money for the RNLI.
"A big part of the charity's work is educating youngsters about how to stay safe on the beach so it was great to see the pupils so interested in the work of our lifeguards. We look forward to working with the school again very soon."
Mark Feldwick, a teacher at the school who coordinated the beach activity day, said: "The pupils spent a great deal of the day playing beach games and generally appreciating the fact that we at Saltash.net have chances most of the country doesn't have.
"Throughout the day it was great to know that our youngsters were safe and well looked after. The lifeguards were approachable, friendly and utterly professional.
"On top of all this, we managed to raise £500 to give to a charity which is close to the hearts of all of us who live in coastal areas."
