THIS PINT-SIZED angler landed two fish almost as big as himself.
Seven-year-old Taylan Brewer, from Luxulyan, caught the cod of 10lb 10oz and pollack of 11lb 1oz on Saturday (AUGUST 3) at 180ft, six miles off the coast of Mevagissey.
He and his dad Glenn are members of Mevagissey Sea Angling Club, and are leading a current competition thanks to Taylan's catch.
"I always had an interest in fishing and obviously it's rubbed off on my son," said Glenn, 43. "I'm very proud of him. For him to reel the fish in from 180ft is quite hard work because they fight back.
"He said his arms were aching afterwards."
Taylan told the Cornish Guardian he was "excited" and that his arms have now recovered.
