PARTY revellers could have been forgiven for thinking they had been transported out of this world after having a ball at this mobile venue last weekend.
They had a close encounter with the UFO at the Masked Ball Hallowe'en night near Helston on Saturday where the pop-up club made its debut appearance of the year.
Camborne entrepreneurs Kevin Taylor, John Rees and Ali Mikail have created a transferable UFO-shaped venue suitable for festivals, weddings and theatre with total capacity for up to 250 people.
Kevin, 45, said the idea for the "outrageous" project came about in the spring of 2010 when the trio got together to toy with different designs and shapes for a joint project.
"We sat down one day and started sketching out ideas, then had it modelled in 3-D and before we knew it we had gathered our team consisting of carpenters, electricians, welders and artists to start on the build.
"Three months later we were finished and ready to showcase our creation which includes an 8-metre bar, DJ booth and sunken dance floor."
The UFO's first outing was at the Barnfest 2011 held at Ventongimps and then at this summer's Shambala Festival in Northamptonshire.
Last weekend the UFO, which cost "tens of thousands" of pounds to build, was put up at the masked ball and thereafter it will be available for general hire around the country.
"Partying in the UFO is an interesting experience and the sound system installed by Void Acoustics is amazing.
"We have only now started to promote it and hope people will get as excited about it as we have."
The erection time for the structure is three days and hire cost is between £5,000 and £10,000.
