EIGHT men from Wales were arrested yesterday after they gate-crashed a party in Newquay that descended into "large-scale violence", police have said.
Officers were called to reports of a brawl at a shipping container on the Treloggan Industrial Estate at around 4.24am.
A local DJ was holding a party in the container with around 25 people when the men from Wales arrived uninvited.
A police spokesman said there was then an "altercation" and several people were assaulted.
The group left the party in a minibus, which was later stopped by a police dog handler close to Chiverton Cross, Truro.
The men, aged between 20 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. One was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro to receive treatment for minor injuries.
All have been bailed to return to Newquay police station on February 11 and 12 next year.
Officers from Newquay, Bodmin, St Austell, Truro, Falmouth and Camborne assisted in the operation.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference GN/12/2517.
