FALMOUTH WEEK 2014 sees its most varied line-up of entertainment to date, with everyone from East 17 to Toyah performing.
The annual event will be kicked off in traditional style with the Falmouth Marching Carnival on Saturday, August 9, with a free party night in the Events Square Marquee afterwards, with music from the Falmouth Soul Sensations.
1990s boy band East 17 will headline the Friday night 80s/90s Extravaganza, with million-selling No 1 single Stay Another Day, plus the rest of the hits such as Deep, It's Alright and If You Ever.
They now boast an addition to the group in the shape of Robbie Craig, who shot to fame with Garage hit Woman Trouble, which he will also perform at the gig.
Joining them will be 1980s singer Toyah, who has had a busy festival circuit so far this year, including the Plymouth Volksfest in May.
The quirky punk princess has enjoyed a career spanning 30 years with 13 Top 40 singles, 20 albums, and two books, as well as appearing in 40 stage plays, making ten feature films and presenting such diverse television programmes as The Good Sex Guide Late, Watchdog and Songs of Praise.
And adding to the 80s/90s party vibe on the night will be Livin' Joy, the Italian dance duo who shot to fame in the latter 1990s with their uplifting singles Don't Stop Movin' and Dreamer.
Bon Jovi fans are in for a treat on the Wednesday, with the world-class Bon Giovi hosting the Tribute Night. Support for this night comes in the shape of Three Minute Warning.
After his sell-out performance at 2012's Falmouth Week, Kernow King will be returning to Events Square on the Sunday, August 17, with his new show Splann!
The night also features Budock boy Colin Leggo and St Agnes maid, Anna Keirle. Anna is a veteran of the comedy circuit and is well known and respected around the country for what Russell Brand described as "her sweet Cornish whimsy", and Colin has shot to fame in Cornwall recently with a series of YouTube videos such as Grand Theft Cornwall.
And what Falmouth Week line-up would be complete with out a night hosted by the Veterans themselves – The Wurzels?
2014 will mark the seventh year of the now legendary Wurzles Hog Roast and Cider Night on the first Sunday night, August 10– with all the hits (Combine Harvester, Cider Drinker, Blackbird etc). They will be supported by Par five-piece Almost Blues.
Monday, August 11, sees another Falmouth Week first – with a show for all Fleetwood Mac fans when Fleetwood Bac, endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself, replicate the classic Rumours line-up.
Ska fans should keep Thursday, August 14, free, for Ska Night with local legends Rudi's Message.
Going a little further back in time to the 1940s, the event welcomes back Company B after the success of last year's Jump & Jive night on Tuesday 12th. They will be supported by the Land Girls.
The penultimate night of Falmouth Week will take the shape of the traditional Pirate/Caribbean Party on Saturday 16th, with music from hi-energy ten-piece Joey the Lips.
Tickets for all shows are available now from Seetickets.com, with the Events Square box office opening on July 25. The box office information line is also now open: 07557 923301.
