Famed for his passion for great food and surfing, chef James Nathan is bringing his culinary skills to a new Cornish restaurant.
The MasterChef winner threw-in the towel as a barrister several years ago to pursue his ambitions in the kitchen.
James is now working at The Green Room restaurant at Retallack Resort and Spa, Wadebridge, north Cornwall.
The 39-year-old won the BBC's Amateur MasterChef competition in 2008.
Since then, he has worked in some of the most famous kitchens in Europe, including those of Michel Roux Jr, Michael Caines and Michel and Sebastian Bras. He also worked at Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.
James said: "I'm really looking forward to bringing my ideas to the table and driving the restaurant forward.
"I'll be drawing on my experience of working with some of the top chefs in the world, but of course I'll also take inspiration from the fantastic local produce on our doorstep here on the north Cornwall coast."
Jason Keyter, resort director, said he was delighted to have James on board.
He said: "We're very proud to be able to introduce such a big name to the kitchen here at Retallack Resort.
"We're confident that James will take The Green Room in a new and exciting direction, and can't wait to hear what our guests and local customers make of this new venture."
