A 70 year-old pilot had a close-call at Perranporth airfield when his two-seater light aeroplane crashed during a short local flight.
The incident happened in June after the experienced flier intended to perform a touch-and-go manoeuvre - one that sees the plane land and immediately take-off without coming to a stop - on runway 5 of the Cornish airfield.
On touching down, however, the plane's landing gear collapsed causing the propeller to strike the runway and shatter.
The pilot and his passenger escaped without injury.
