The founder of ShelterBox is taking legal action against the charity based in Cornwall, it has been reported. Tom Henderson, who was removed as chief executive in July, is taking the disaster relief charity to an employment tribunal over his dismissal. Mr Henderson has claimed the action was wrongful and unfair. He has also been waiting for the result of an internal investigation by the charity after he appealed against his dismissal. The Employment Tribunals Service confirmed to the BBC that a hearing was scheduled to be held in Exeter, Devon, in 2013. In a statement, a spokesman for ShelterBox, which is based in Helston in Cornwall, told the BBC: "The issue of legal action is a matter for Mr Henderson. We will defend any claim robustly." The charity, founded by Mr Henderson in 2000, provides tents, packed into large green boxes, to victims of natural disasters and other crises who have fled or lost their home. Mr Henderson was unavailable for comment.
