A tantalising preview of Christmas was delivered to Cornish youngsters when a pair of friendly reindeers paid a visit.
Lowen and Nadelik, who take their names from the Cornish words for Merry and Christmas, dropped in to see the delighted pupils at Portreath Primary School.
The handsome pair are residents at Feadon Farm Wildlife and Conservation Centre, part of the Gwel an Mor resort in Portreath.
To surprise the pupils, they were taken for a stroll down through the woods into the village – creating a few raised eyebrows from residents and passers-by.
As part of the treat, youngsters from classes one and two all received a letter from Father Christmas on the morning of the visit, to let them know that he had sent two of Rudolph's cousins, who just happened to live in Portreath, to visit them and to make sure they were being good.
