A FALMOUTH apprentice has won a national award. Lizzie Hosken won the advanced apprentice of the year at the National Apprenticeship Awards.
She works as an apprentice accountant at Clark Jenner Angove Accountants at Perranarworthal.
Joining in 2009, when she was 19, she has been recognised for her contribution to the business, including introducing new measures to ensure high standards and playing a role in training a new apprentice.
She said: "I'm really surprised to have won as the two other candidates were so good. My fiancee, employer and parents will be really pleased and it's so
nice to be able to give something back.
"I started at the bottom and worked by way up and now I want to do a higher apprenticeship."
Her training was done at Camborne College and Clark Jenner Angove.
Jayne Angove, her employer, said: "She has always contributed greatly to the business and is a fantastic asset to us."
