Cornwall police are appealing for information after a woman was kidnapped in Helston.
The 45-year-old woman from Porthleven was sitting in her car in the town at around 4.25pm on Thursday when a man got into the vehicle, threatened her, and forced her to drive away.
She drove to the Sainsbury's car park on Clodgey Lane where she stopped the car, and shouted for him to get out.
Then at around 4.40pm the occupants of a nearby property in Esmonde Road discovered a man inside their house. The man ran from the property but was detained by one of the householders a short distance away before the police arrived at the scene.
The suspect was described as being in his mid-late 30s and of chubby build. He was wearing a dark beanie-style woolly hat and a top with a pattern on the front.
A 33-year-old man from Mevagissey has been arrested in connection with both incidents. Sgt Phil Rowland said: "This woman showed great fortitude in what must have been an extremely traumatic experience."
Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference AH/12/1387.
