A former Truro School pupil accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at an extravagant party has given evidence.
George Gray, 19, from Taunton, Somerset, denied having sexual intercourse with the girl at a party held in an exclusive area near Truro.
Giving evidence on Friday Gray appeared in the witness box at Truro Crown Court dressed in a navy blue suit and wearing a white shirt and striped tie.
The court heard that Gray and the alleged victim attended different schools but were in contact through Facebook and texts.
Under examination from defence barrister Robert Linford, Gray told the court the alleged victim sat next to him on a sofa and they kissed and fondled one another.
Gray told the court that because of the noise from the party he suggested they went somewhere more private downstairs.
He said: "We had an intimate kiss, by mutual agreement, and we sat together on a bench in the gym area, getting intimate."
"I put a hand on her breast, over her clothes, and she did not object."
Gray told the court the alleged victim did not object to going into the bathroom where it was more private nor when he touched her intimately.
He said he had not had intercourse with her and had not put his hand over her mouth.
Gray said that when they heard the door rattle the alleged victim unlocked it and went upstairs and he rejoined the party.
The court heard that two of the alleged victim's friends accused him of attacking her and one grabbed him and struck his face.
A bouncer ordered Gray outside and he left to walk to a friend's house three or four miles away but was arrested on the way.
Under cross-examination from prosecution barrister, David Sapiecha, Gray said that at no point had the alleged victim told him to stop. He denied being so drunk that he did not know what he was doing.
Gray agreed that he had been silly when he claimed that he had been stabbed or headbutted as a cover up to explain the blood that was found on him and his clothes.
Gray denies one count of rape. The trial will continue on Monday.
