Tonight will be very chilly across Cornwall with widespread frost likely but it will quickly turn warmer tomorrow morning as strong winds sweep in from the west accompanied by gusty showers.
After a weekend of extremely high tides caused by a rare alignment of the sun and the moon, there will be little let-up for those in the west of the country as strong winds tomorrow are expected to bring a continued risk of large waves into Monday and six flood alerts remain in place across both the north and south coasts of the county.
Jonathan Day, flood risk manager at the Environment Agency, said: "We are monitoring the situation closely with the Met Office and will issue flood alerts and warnings as required.
"It's possible we could see some large waves and spray and urge people to take care near coastal paths and promenades and not to drive through flood water."
He advised people to check the Environment Agency website at gov.uk and their @EnvAgency Twitter feed for the latest updates.
Severe gales are expected on Monday.
