POLICE have launched an appeal to trace the driver of a gold-coloured Peugeot following the death of a cyclist at St Mabyn earlier this month.
John Phillips, a former Wadebridge care home manager, and who lived at Delabole, was killed on November 11.
It is believed his bike was involved in a collision with a Landrover on an unclassified road between St Mabyn and Longstone. He died at the scene.
Mr Phillips played an active part in the local community and was the chairman of governors at Camelford Primary School as well as chairman of Camelford Carnival.
Today police investigating the fatal crash want to trace the driver of the Peugeot – possibly a 207 or 208 – which officers say may have been in the St Mabyn area at around 10am on November 11.
A police spokesman said: "The driver is urged to come forward to the police on 101, quoting reference 0335 of 11/11/12 as it is believed that he/she may have information relevant to the enquiry."
