CAMBORNE Christmas lights will be switched on today at 3pm.
While the town has no formal ceremony this year, Christmas festivities officially get underway in the square on Friday at 10am with the Camborne Lights Celebration Market.
There will be many stalls for shoppers and special guests dropping in.
Musical guests include Kehelland School who are singing carols from 2pm to 2.30pm, Pirate FM will be there between 2pm to 4pm, and Camborne Youth Band will play from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
Father Christmas has also promised to be there between 3pm and 5pm and may have some sweets for those children who have been good so far this year.
Camborne Business Improvement District (BID) manager Mel Martin said: "Camborne has over 150 vibrant local businesses, your favourite national stores, specialist shops, easy parking and level shopping areas.
"It has mouth-watering cafes, restaurants, butchers, bakers and inns providing everything you could want for Christmas.
"All employ local people and some sell unique products which you will not get elsewhere, so shop local and support your town this Christmas."
