Carharrack, near Redruth, may be a long way from the sea, but one resident is doing his bit for the RNLI.
Mick French has decorated his home with Christmas lights and hopes that people who are impressed with his work will make a donation.
He has been raising funds for the last 15 years, initially where he lived in St Ives, and now at his home in Carharrack.
This year's display was switched on at the weekend and will be on every evening from 5pm to 10pm until twelfth night.
They will be turned off for an hour on December 19 to mark the 31st anniversary of the loss of the Penlee lifeboat.
Mr French said: "I'm a big fan of the RNLI and the work the volunteer crews do around the coast of Cornwall and I spend a lot of my time displaying my scale model lifeboats all over the country to raise funds.
"This year I've managed to raise £2,660 for the charity and hope the lights will attract yet more donations.
"This money is vital because the RNLI relies on public support to continue its lifesaving work.
"The charity's volunteer crews will also be on standby right over Christmas and new year and this is my way of paying tribute to their commitment and dedication."
