Opponents of plans to build a Premier Inn in Falmouth have taken their fight to the local MP.
A group of residents and business owners from the area around the proposed site at Cambeltown Way met with Falmouth and Truro MP Sarah Newton to explain why they feel the plan by New Cornwall Developments should be refused by Cornwall Council's planners.
They also raised concerns about the way the matter has been handled by the town council's planning committee, which supported the proposals.
Rosemary Ridette-Gregory, of the Falmouth and District Hoteliers Association said: "We have concerns about the way the committee handled it. They didn't seem to really understand either application."
The campaigners asked Ms Newton to speak to the chief executive of Cornwall Council urging the matter to go before a full planning committee.
"I feel confident it will and we will just have to let democracy run its course," added Mrs Ridette-Gregory.
Among the concerns are the effects on highway safety and car parking.
Ms Newton said she had been contacted by a number of concerned constituents.
"I have now written to Cornwall Council to pass on the concerns expressed to me, with a request that they are closely considered as the application is determined."
