Plans to transform a neglected Cornish holiday village into a brand new £50 million attraction are falling into place.
Developer Espalier has now submitted detailed plans for a new spa building at Millendreath, near Looe, in south east Cornwall.
The new centrepiece will be sited on the valley floor near the resort's private beach.
It offers resort residents and members a gym, spa treatment rooms, indoor swimming pool and a cafe/bar, looking out to new, landscaped gardens and the beach.
Following consultation with residents and council chiefs, Espalier changed its original designs to shrink the impact of the new building.
Architects BFLS, the firm who created London's iconic 'Gherkin' landmark office building work, are behind the designs.
The project team includes Arup, the engineers who developed the Olympic velodrome, and LDA, the landscape architects in charge of the Olympic Park.
The company snapped up the 75-acre site and beach in 2007 with a view to recreating a high-quality coastal holiday village there.
Last year Cornwall Council granted outline permission for 50 villas.
