A man was airlifted to hospital following an aircraft crash in Cornwall.
The man, who was from the local area and in his 50s, had to be freed from the wreckage of the plane which came down at Landulph near Saltash.
He was taken by Devon Air Ambulance to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth suffering from back injuries.
Police were alerted to a report of a microlight aircraft having come down on Saturday at 1.15pm.
Ambulance crews, who arrived first at the scene, found the man trapped inside the aircraft.
They called for assistance from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.
A police spokesman confirmed the man was the pilot and only occupant of the plane, which came down near a mansion house in Landulph.
He said the man was airlifted to hospital in Devon, although his injuries were "not serious".
The Air Accident Investigation Board has been informed and will look into the cause of the crash.
