The owners of a Cornish harbour are asking the people of the town to come forward and have their say on plans to build a footbridge.
A public consultation will be held on Thursday about the £466,000 scheme which will span Penpol Creek from South Quay, Hayle.
Harbour developer ING has a statutory duty to provide a new bridge under the term of their planning permission for a mixed use development on the site but are hoping to get feedback on the position and type favoured by local people.
ING spokesman Gary Cartmell said: "There are four options. We are trying to keep it as simple as possible and we are trying to make sure everyone gets an understanding of the challenges and the benefits."
The options include a fixed bridge connecting South Quay to Penpol Terrace or East Quay, a lifting bridge or a combination of an opening bridge and tidal defence.
Visitors to the consultation, which will take place at the Passmore Edwards Institute, will be given information on the pros and cons of each scheme as well as details on possible time frames.
Mr Cartmell said part of the purpose of the bridge would be to provide a connection between the town and South Quay.
The site, which has been derelict for more than 30 years, will house new homes, a waterside restaurant, a public open space and a food store. Asda is close to completing a deal to be the chosen retailer.
ING is hoping to start work on the scheme next spring and if members of the public choose a fixed bridge option to Penpol Terrace the structure will be completed at the same time as the rest of the development.
If residents prefer another option, ING will contribute funds to the scheme, which will be built by Cornwall Council.
Mr Cartmell added: "It is very important for people to understand what the options are on the bridge. It is important that people understand how beneficial this bridge is going to be.
"The best way to come to a consultation is to leave your car at home and walk, and see how you feel about where the bridge should be. We have got half a million pounds for a bridge and we have go to do it right."
The consultation will take place on December 13 from 12pm to 6.30pm.
To have your say, either pick up a form at the consultation, go online at www.hayleharbour.com or write to Mr Dave Slatter, c/o Cornwall Council, Council Offices, Dolcoath Avenue, Camborne, TR14 8SX.
