A FLIGHT Lieutenant based at RAF St Mawgan has been commended for his contribution to security during the London Olympic Games.
Nick Thorne received an Air Officer Commanding 1 (Air Combat) Group's Commendation for his "vital contribution" at the 2012 Games.
In total, more than half of RAF St Mawgan-based personnel participated at the event and Flight Lieutenant Nick Thorne is one of 17 members from across the Royal Air Force who have been awarded for their outstanding contribution towards a safe and secure Olympics.
He said: "It was an honour to be at the centre of the planning and delivery of the Military contribution to a once in a lifetime event."
