AN iconic London venue has played host to a group of young west Cornwall musicians.
The Penzance Youth String Orchestra (PYSO) performed to a 5,000-strong crowd at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the national Schools Proms.
With members aged from 10 to 19, the orchestra were given the job of opening the final night of the proms, organised by music charity Music For Youth. For two of its fledgling members, it was their first public performance.
"PYSO looked and sounded wonderful," said Tim Boulton, director of PYSO.
"The players have worked incredibly hard to make this performance possible and are a fantastic advert for musical talent in Cornwall."
The ensemble later collaborated with rap duo Star.
