The threat of a stiff easterly breeze couldn't deter hardy gig rowers from taking to the rather choppy seas off the Lizard to compete in one of the sport's annual fun fixtures.
Buller Day, hosted by Cadgwith Gig Club at the weekend, was two-thirds down on its usual number of entrants due to the prospect of unfavourable rowing conditions.
But club secretary Rachel Holder said that didn't dampen either the enthusiasm or the enjoyment of the day.
"It was a great atmosphere," she said. "Everything went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
"There were plenty of spectators up on the headlands and rowers who turned up without a boat got mixed in with other crews, so everyone had a race."
Competitors came from as far afield as Salcombe and Cattewater to enjoy Saturday's regatta, which ended with the traditional barbecue and a chance for the rowers to quench their thirst at the bar.
