Falmouth's Business Improvement District has launched a new initiative calling on all the town's residents and visitors to support local shops.
As part of its Shop Local, Think Falmouth promotional campaign, the BID is calling on people to buy closer to home, throughout the year.
BID manager Richard Wilcox said: "There are real threats and challenges to towns as never before.
"This means that we need to be as proactive and innovative as possible in highlighting the diversity, interest and quality of our town offering and that is exactly what the Falmouth BID is trying to do.
"The Shop Local, Think Falmouth campaign has already galvanised extensive business support, which is terrific and demonstrates that Falmouth working together can achieve a lot more and be an even more compelling place to visit."
The initiative is the latest to emerge from Falmouth's established Support the High Street campaign that has seen the BID lobbying on behalf of its member businesses and earn national recognition.
Last year, BID representatives were invited to Westminster take part in an all-party discussion on the future of the British high street and a short meeting with retail guru Mary Portas, while a free parking scheme to attract more shoppers into the town during February, proved a success this year.
