Player-manager Lee Hodges is seeking a positive response as basement side Truro City visit Blue Square Bet South leaders Salisbury City today.
Fast approaching the halfway stage of the season, transfer-embargoed Truro are 34 points behind today's table-topping Wiltshire hosts.
Hodges was the first to admit his disappointment at last week's 1-0 home reverse by relegation rivals Maidenhead United, despite the lauded return of veteran ace Barry Hayles to Truro's front line.
The 39-year-old Truro boss said: "Everything off the pitch seems to be heading in the right direction.
"Now it's time to start things going in the right direction on the pitch as well."
A proud and passionate player, former Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle defender Hodges was the first to concede he was partly responsible for Maidenhead's winner last Saturday.
Hodges admitted: "When you are part of a team, you have to look at your performance first before looking at others. However, we did not play well as a team and everyone involved on Saturday we will know we will have to be ten times better against Salisbury because they are at the top of the table for a reason.
"They are a good, organised side, have a good manager in Darrell Clarke, top players and the boy [Jamie] White has been scoring for fun for them and looks to be a good signing for Darrell.
"Even without last week, a top-versus-bottom match is always going to be tough on the team at the bottom, and unfortunately that is us.
"We have come up through the leagues with Salisbury and we always know whenever we play them it's going to be a tough match, wherever either of us is in the table.
"Because of the matches we have had in the past, especially when we were both going for the Southern League title, I have built up a rapport with Darrell. He's done a great job there, and when I have had tough times he has been very supportive.
"I certainly have a lot of time for him but you can be sure that will be the last thing on our minds when the match starts, until full-time.
"I will be looking for a positive response following last week's disappointing performance.
"The sooner we can put that behind us the better."
Hodges waits on the fitness of skipper and central defensive partner Jake Ash (hand) but is without suspended right-back Bobby Hopkinson.
