CROWDS packed out St Andrew's Methodist Church in Mevagissey for a Three Choir Concert evening.

Mevagissey Male Voice Choir, Mevagissey Ladies' Choir and Mevagissey Primary School Choir joined forces to entertain a full house of 200 audience members.

"It was a wonderful evening," said male choir musical director Graham Willcocks.

"The ladies sang beautifully and the children's choir was an absolute delight – they were entertaining and looked great.

"We all had a brilliant evening and the audience went home very happy."

The final carol of the evening was a joint rendition by the male and ladies' choirs of the Cornish carol Lo He Comes An Infant Stranger.

"The highlight of the evening was the Mevagissey Primary School Choir who joined us to sing their carols," said male choir secretary Michael Collings.

At the end of the evening, Brian Mitchell, who has accompanied the male choir since it started 38 years ago, was presented with a cheque.

"Brian is well-known for his skill both on the piano and organ. Indeed, the St Andrew's Church organ can almost be considered his own, having learned on it and played it ever since," added Mr Collings.

Mr Mitchell is stepping down from the choir but not leaving completely.

Anyone wishing to join the male choir is welcome to attend rehearsals on Mondays at 7.30pm in St Andrews Church.
