HOLLYWOOD stars were among the guests at Boscundle Manor Hotel near St Austell.
Bill Nighy, Rachel McAdams and producer Richard Curtis were among those staying at the hotel for 22 nights while filming new blockbuster, About Time.
Sharon and David Parker said Bill Nighy, and his fellow actors were the perfect guests.
"Bill said he didn't want to leave – the only thing we won't miss is him having breakfast at 6.30am," Mrs Parker said.
She said Mr Nighy – who has a penchant for strong Yorkshire Tea and requested two four-minute boiled eggs, well-done brown toast with butter and Marmite, and iced orange juice, before taking a shiny red apple to work.
Mrs Parker said she also received a call from Ms McAdams' personal assistant in Canada, with a list of things she "would and wouldn't eat."
"I'm a chef but there were items on this list I didn't recognise," she said. "But when she arrived she said, 'Oh don't worry, I will just eat off the menu'.
"She really cares about people, the environment and the planet."
Mrs Parker said Ms McAdams and her partner, actor Michael Sheen, went for a trip to the Eden Project during their ten-night stay. But she said they had to take a taxi because she was not allowed to be in the sun for the sake of continuity in the film.
Mrs Parker said on the first night of their visit, Mr Sheen's parents came for dinner at Boscundle, all the way from Wales.
"They hadn't seen each other in quite some time and it was quite funny because they had both grown beards and Michael had never seen his dad with a beard before. You could tell they are a close family."
Lindsay Duncan, who also stayed at Boscundle during filming, had an "odd request" for the Parkers when she arrived, they said.
"We had to vacuum her suitcase out," said Mrs Parker.
"She had some seeds that had distributed themselves around her case.
"She was really lovely, a charming lady."
Other cast members including Richard Cordery, Lydia Wilson, Josh McGuire and Will Merrick also stayed at Boscundle.
They have been shooting at nearby locations including Porthpean House and Vault Beach at Gorran Haven.
The film is a romantic comedy about Tim (Domhnall Gleeson), who discovers he can travel back in time and decides to use his powers to find a girlfriend, Mary (McAdams), whom he meets after moving from Cornwall to London.
