A SUMMERCOURT man has been charged with 37 counts of theft – including taking easter eggs, a birthday card and a pair of Russian binoculars.
Andrew Lawry, from West Villas, appeared before Truro Magistrates' Court on Thursday, January 10.
Of the alleged offences, 26 related to burglary of a dwelling and theft, with no violence, and included items taken from homes in Sticker, St Austell, Trewoon, Camborne, St Newlyn East, Goonhavern, Truro and St Agnes.
He is charged with stealing cash, a jewellery box and jewellery to the value of £7,240 from a home in Sticker, and two guns and a large laundry bag as well as other items from a Blackwater property.
The 37 charges also included two for receiving stolen goods – a television and camera – seven charges for attempted burglary with intent to steal and two for the burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal.
The 26-year-old, who stood before magistrates wearing a grey shirt, entered no plea.
Appearing alongside Lawry was Tracey Lawry, 45, from Mount View in Lane, Newquay.
She is accused of four charges of receiving stolen goods, including a diamond ring, a laptop computer, and other jewellery, also entered no plea.
Also accused was William Lawry, 51, from the same address, who was charged with receiving stolen goods. It is alleged he received a diamond ring, a watch, a laptop computer and jewellery.
Rosemary Hughes, from Polbrock House in Lane, Newquay, was also charged with one account of received stolen goods, as part of the same hearing, and entered no plea.
Goods the 57-year-old is alleged to have received included jewellery, photographic equipment and a mirror.
Magistrates stated the case will need to be heard by a jury at Truro Crown Court.
All four defendants were released on bail.
The hearing was adjourned for a committal to crown court on Thursday, February 21.
