As the rest of the country is waking up to a blanket of heavy snow this morning, much of Cornwall has been battered by heavy rain instead.
While a light dusting of 'wet' snow covered Bodmin Moor this morning and Callington and Launceston in the east woke up to 2-3 inches of snow, elsewhere in Cornwall flooding has played more of a part in disruption to travel, with widespread flooding in west Cornwall.
A tree has fallen in north Cornwall just south of Summercourt at Brighton on the A3085 and flooding in St Earth has closed Station approach and Treneere Lane in Heamoor near Penzance.
A yellow 'be prepared' weather warning is still in place for the far east of the Duchy with snow due to fall all morning Launceston and Callington in the far east. Launceston CP School is closed today because of the weather, Upton Cross School is opening late at 10am due to bad road conditions and Braddock C of E School will be opening at 12.30pm.
Neighbouring Devon should expect 5-20 cm of snow this morning.
