Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on Saturday evening when a pedestrian was hit by a HGV on the A30 at Launceston.
The collision happened around 19.15pm near to the junction with the A388. Police believe that the 34-year-old male pedestrian had been standing in a nearsidelayby in front of his Renault Laguna car when he walked into the nearside lane of the eastbound carriageway of the A30.
It was here that he was hit by the HGV.
The man, who lived locally, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the man in the layby before the collision to contact the Police on 101, quoting log number 0670 of 190113.
