CORNISH environmental campaigners Surfers Against Sewage are the subject of an award winning film.
In July 2012 philanthropic company TOMS launched a film project to discover inspirational individuals or groups that start something that matters.
Called Generation Change, it was posted on the Dazed Digital website and encouraged UK filmmakers to come up with a three-minute proposal for an inspiring story.
The winning idea was chosen by British director Lucy Walker and went to Carlos Carneiro, who was awarded £5,000 to produce his film.
His finished production, Killing Waves, is shown for the first time on Dazed Digital on January 22.
It tells the story of Surfers Against Sewage, which was set up in 1990 by a group of passionate surfers and beach lovers.
Since then, the charity has  worked to protect the UK's seas and beaches and has built up a catalogue of environmental successes, targeting issues affecting beaches including marine litter, sewage, pollution, climate change, toxic chemicals and coastal development.
Andy Cummins, from Surfers Against Sewage, said it was a pleasure working with Carlos Carneiro.
"Carlos was looking around for inspiration. He came across Surfers Against Sewage and related to what he saw.
"He came down and worked with us for a week. He's very talented and what's been produced is fantastic.
"We are really pleased that he and his team have been able to capture the essence of Surfers Against Sewage."
