The Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service are actively seeking to recruit new on-call firefighters in the Lostwithiel area.
Tony Penrose, Lostwithiel Station manager, said: "Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service's on-call firefighters are ordinary people who live or work within the community and come from all walks of life.
"The thing they have in common is that they have made the decision to put something back into their community and become a trained firefighter."
As well as receiving a huge amount of training, new recruits also have the opportunity to attend first aid and LGV driving courses.
"We can provide the station, appliances, equipment and training but the firefighters themselves have to come from the community," added, Mr Penrose.
To become an on call firefighter you must be at least 17 years and 6 months old, be physically fit and live and/or work very close to your Community Fire Station as firefighters need to be able to get to the station within 4 minutes of an alerter-call.
If you're interested or to find out more visit - www.cornwall.gov.uk/firerecruitment, or call theHuman Resources team on 01872 323800, or alternatively drop in to Lostwithiel Community Fire Station on their drill night on Tuesday evenings from 7pm.
