A man and his dog had to be rescued from the beach at Wheal Charlotte yesterday afternoon by St Agnes RNLI Lifeboat.
The inshore lifeboat and her volunteer crew of Joe Daysh, Jamie Watkins and Richard Llewellyn launched following a report to the coastguard by a member of the public.
It is thought the dog had run off down the cliff and so the owner had followed him and was then unable to leave the beach safely due to a high tide.
Facing choppy seas and a westerly wind, the crew of Blue Peter IV located the man and dog and returned them safely to the beach at Porthtowan.
