FORTY firefighters helped tackle a fire at a house in Gulval near Penzance last night.
Four fire engines from Penzance, St Just and St Ives, plus supporting appliances from Falmouth and St Dennis were sent to the property just after midnight.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue service received five calls about the blaze and on arrival crews found one semi detached property of two floors with the roof well alight.
Police and ambulance were on scene but it is not yet clear whether anyone was in the property at the time.
The fire was out by 4am and a fire investigation team will be on scene this morning to carry out a full fire investigation.
At this time the fire is believed to have been caused accidently and confined to the building.
