The focus of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division switches to the relegation battle today as bottom club Penzance host their closest rivals Liskeard Athletic at Penlee Park.
The Cornish Magpies will have to gain their first league victory of the season if they are to maintain their slender hopes of avoiding relegation to Division One West.
Victory, over a Liskeard outfit searching for their first league win in 18 games, would narrow the gap between the two sides to four points.
Liskeard's last league win was at home to Penzance on September 11 when goals from Andrew Neal, Chris Clark and Simon Skews secured the points for the Blues.
Skews is the only one of that trio still at Lux Park after several of the early season squad have left but Blues boss Paul Blatchford is hoping to have six of his squad, who missed last weekend's narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Newquay, returning for the trip west.
"This is a massive game for the club as we can go a long way to ensuring our Premier survival which is vital for Liskeard and would allow us the time to rebuild in the close season," said Blatchford.
Penzance secretary John Mead said: "If two sides are relegated our task is almost hopeless but if it's just one then we still have a faint chance but we do need to win today."
Plymouth Parkway have parted company with striker Lewis Coombes who, after four games and two goals, has decided to return to St Blazey.
"I find it a strange decision after such a short time but Lewis obviously had his reasons for leaving," said Parkway boss Wayne Hillson.
Parkway could be short of firepower as they await late news on Sam Cooper (knee) and Dan Griffiths (groin) before naming their team for the game at Torpoint.
Athletic won 1-0 at Saltash last Saturday but full-back Matt Budd's back injury means he is rated doubtful.
Elburton Villa welcome back top scorer Levi Landricombe after a month in Australia and he joins the squad that travels to Poltair Park looking to gain revenge on a St Austell that won 7-2 at Haye Road two weeks ago.
Saltash have goalkeeper Nathan Murphy returning for their trip to in-form South Devon outfit Bovey Tracey.
Ivybridge Town will be without Mike Scott and Shae Saunders for their trip to Camelford. St Blazey include Coombes in their squad for the visit of Liverton, who are looking for a sixth straight win.
Witheridge visit Launceston, while leaders Bodmin entertain Cullompton.
