A man rescued from a sinking boat in Falmouth was just one of the shouts lifeboat crews were involved in on Sunday.
It was a busy day, with three call outs in 12 hours, including a yacht with engine failure and a fishing boat which had run aground.
It was 6.15pm when the crew were called to the aid of a small motor boast which was sinking near the Prince of Wales pier.
It had one person on board and the lifeboat managed to rescue him, but were unable to save the boat.
The first call came earlier in the day, while the all weather lifeboat was on exercise.
Just after noon it was diverted to go to the aid of the 37foot yacht Ailla, with five people on board just off Messack Point.
It had suffered engine failure. She had managed to drop anchor and had fixed her engine problem, but because of the near gale force weather conditions the lifeboat escorted the Ailla to her berth at Mylor.
The alarm was raised for the third time at 11.30pm to assist a 24 metre, 140 ton, Irish fishing vessel the Willie Joe which had gone aground near the Prince of Wales Pier.
As it was two hours before low tide, the lifeboat secured a short towline to her to avoid her going further aground and at 12.20am, when the tide had risen sufficiently, they were able to get her free and she was able to go under her own power to the dockyard.
