The Countess of Wessex will be in Cornwall on Thursday to perform the opening ceremony for the new Exhibition Hall at the Royal Cornwall Showground.
The £650,000 building at Wadebridge is next to the existing hall used to house cattle during the Royal Cornwall Show, and has been designed to blend in with that structure which measures 73 metres by 25 metres.
"The new hall will be in demand for various events throughout the year and at show time," said spokesman Paul White.
"The extra covered space it provides will mean there will no longer be a need to bring in marquees to house all the cattle-section entries. The current and new buildings will provide ample permanent accommodation."
At the ceremony the Countess will be introduced to the architects, as well as the builders, Midas Group, and members of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association Council before being invited to unveil a commemorative plaque.
