Truro City player-manager Lee Hodges will seek another impressive display from his Blue Square Bet South basement side at home to star-studded Eastleigh today.
Veteran sweeper Hodges was glowing in praise for City's performance in Tuesday's surprise 1-0 win at Sutton, ending United's six-match winning streak at their Gander Green Lane home ground.
The 39-year-old upbeat former Plymouth Argyle and Torquay United central defender said: "It was an outstanding display from the team – defensively I could not fault us, as a team.
"Martin Watts does what Martin Watts does and that is ping one in from distance at the free-kick and with the way we played we may well have had more goals.
"It was crazy to think that we were beating a side that won their last six home league games against the likes of Eastleigh, Welling and Bromley and yet here we were – the bottom team – beating them on their own patch. It was nothing more than we deserved though and miles away from the Bromley performance."
Watts' superb late strike in the 82nd minute sealed City's third away win of the season and came in the wake of a 4-0 Saturday defeat at Bromley.
The official Sutton match report noted Truro "looked some distance from a bottom-of-the-table side, defending well, looking lively on the break, and not flattered by their late winner".
The Truro boss admitted: "On our day I know what these boys are capable of. They have shown it again and again and recently we had the double home and away wins over Hayes & Yeading, so it was not flas-in-the-pan at Sutton.
"All I would say is that all wins are built on solid defensive performances, keeping clean sheets.
"Eastleigh have got a proper good side, full of very good players – people like Chris Todd, Chris Zebroski, Lee Peacock, Ross Flitney in goal, the list goes on.
"It's obvious to me that we have to defend well against them, first and foremost. If we defend well and then play well then we have shown what we are capable of against the likes of Hayes & Yeading, and now Sutton. If we don't then it's one word in a nutshell: Bromley.
"We want to make sure it's a performance like the other night, not letting them get near our goal, if we want to come anywhere close to a result against Eastleigh."
Eastleigh are set to include a host of former professionals including ex-Exeter City and Torquay United central defender Todd, former Plyomuth Argyle and Torquay striker Zebroski, ex-Exeter City forward Craig McAllister and former Barnet and Gillingham goalkeeper Flitney.
"They've also got a couple of good former Barnet players, Mark Hughes and Glenn Southam in midfield and Lee Peacock, the former Bristol City and Swindon striker, plays for them as well," said Hodges. "Like I said they are a really good side and right in there for the play-offs with the squad they have got."
Hodges will wait on a fitness test on striker Stewart Yetton who made his long-awaited return from injury in a City reserves match at Penryn Athletic in midweek but was reporting a sore knee via Twitter yesterday morning.
Hodges said: "Yettsy got 45 minutes in for the reserves and we will just have to wait and see how he is."
Meanwhile, defender Calron Hall has left the club following his move to London. Hodges told the club's City Alerts bulletin: "I'd like to say a very big thank-you to Calron, who stepped up into the first team and been very much a part of it."
