PADSTOW lifeboat crew were busy on Monday with a series of call-outs and were at sea for more than nine hours.
First, they were launched at 6.30am to go to the assistance of a fishing boat which suffered fuel tank problems seven miles off Trevose Head.
After towing it to Padstow for repairs, the lifeboat crew were asked by coastguards to help search for a large metal navigation buoy that had crossed the Atlantic from America and had been seen off Padstow and was a danger to shipping.
En route to the search position the Coastguard received a 999 call from a yacht in trouble, off Bude. An RNLI spokeswoman said: "The yacht had become dismasted and was drifting.
"On arrival to the yacht the lifeboat's Y-boat was launched and assisted the yacht's crew in cutting away the sails and mast. After fixing a tow the yacht was taken to Padstow.''
