A "DISGRACEFUL" mess on an "impeccable" housing estate is the subject of planning enforcement.
Tywardreath Cornwall councillor, David Hughes, has reported two stock-racing cars, which have been on the drive of a Trevance Park property for more than a month, after frustrated residents complained to him.
"It has to be seen to be believed really," said Mr Hughes. "It's a nice estate with a lot of elderly people. Most of the gardens are impeccable."
He said the cars have been stripped down to their "rock bottom basics" and parts are strewn over the lawn. Mr Hughes has reported it to Cornwall Council's planning enforcement team.
"It's absolutely disgraceful," he said. "The neighbours find it very frustrating and several have complained."
Chris Cooper-Young, the council's principal planning officer, said the person who put the cars there was in breach of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
"As a council we can take action on untidy sites under that legislation and the address is open to a continuing planning enforcement investigation," he said.
Mr Hughes said if the mess if not cleared, the council can get it cleaned and bill the person responsible.
"But to do that they have got to jump through a lot of hoops in the right order," he said.
"It's very frustrating for the residents because these things take months."
