Cornwall Council has confirmed that five tonnes of raw pork was cleared off of a busy road leading out of Truro yesterday after it fell out of a lorry.
Police were called to Newquay Road at 10.45am after the fresh meat fell out of a faulty lorry door, just before the junction leading to the New Cattle Market.
After arriving at the scene, it took six members from Cory Environmental, Cornwall Council's waste contractor, two and a half hours to clear up the mess.
The spillage caused delays on Newquay Road and Carnhom Cross.
