Three pubs from Cornwall, Devon and Somerset have been judged among CAMRA's top 150 local real ale pubs.
The Star Inn in Crowlas, Cornwall, The Ship and Pilot at Ilfracombe, Devon, and the Crossways Inn in West Huntspill, Somerset, have been selected by local branch members of the real ale campaign group.
They won their place in the top 150 after votes based on customer service, value for money and the quality of the beer.
CAMRA's chief executive, Mike Benner, said: "Community Pubs Month is a month-long celebration of the Great British Pub and its importance to the surrounding community."
Nick Waters, landlord at The Ship and Pilot, said: "It's something we have been aiming for. I have only been here for three years and it has come a lot quicker than we expected."
The majority of the winning pubs will move forward to CAMRA's regional pub of the year competition, which will be announced in September with the winner of that award being put forward for the National pub of the year, which is announced in February 2014.
The national community pubs campaign involves 6,000 pubs across the UK and encourages them to use different marketing ideas.
