Police are searching for a man who assaulted a member of rail staff on a broken down train near Gunnislake on Thursday February 21.
Today officers have released a CCTV image of a man they think can help with their inquiries.
Investigating officer PC Mick Stupple said: "A local train had broken down at Okeltor crossing on the Tamar Valley branch line, near Gunnislake.
"A passenger on board attempted to leave the train while it was broken down and between stations but he was prevented from doing so by the train manager and driver.
"However, he then assaulted the train manager and managed to open the doors before disembarking from the train and walking off down the tracks.
Mr Stupple said the man's actions were irresponsible and dangerous.
He added: "As well as the unprovoked assault on a member of rail staff carrying out their duties, this person's actions were extremely foolish and dangerous and could have resulted in him suffering injuries as a result of getting off the train and walking along the track.
"I can today release two CCTV images of a male passenger I believe will have information which can assist the investigation. If you know his identity, or current whereabouts, please contact BTP straight away."
