A marmalade that is made in Truro has won a prestigious award at a global competition.

Sue Hubble, founder of Hubble Preserves, received a gold award for her Mighty Fine Marmalade at the World's Original Marmalade Awards last month.

More than 1,000 jars of marmalade, from as far afield as Australia and the Philippines, were sent by marmalade makers to the organisers of the awards.

Ms Hubble said: "I am absolutely thrilled to receive a Gold Award; especially as it is the first time I have entered my marmalade for the Awards.  I only heard about them last year and by then it was too late for me to enter.  But I was determined to enter this year as I am very proud of my products.
"My aim is to make preserves of the highest quality using local ingredients where possible. All my products are hand made using the traditional method of preserving pan and spoon.  I make what I personally like and that way I ensure the products are delicious."
