If you think you know the difference between the Men an Tol and Men Scryfer or Carn Brea and Carn Marth or even Charles Causley and Charles Thomas, then comedian Kernow King wants see you at The Acorn in Penzance on Friday.
The Cornish raconteur and yarn spinner best known for his stand-up show and short films, is hoping to crown somebody the king of Cornish knowledge.
The quiz will feature questions on a variety of topics, covering events, locations and personalties past and present. Organiser Jane Howells said: "We're planning an evening of entertainment from Cornwall's top comedian combined with a chance for people to find out more about Cornwall's history. There will be a picture quiz, questions about Penzance, Cornish history and general knowledge.
"However, with Kernow King, aka Ed Rowe, as master of ceremonies those attending can expect plenty of comedy and laughter."
The event aims to raise money for Cornish Quest, an educational charity formed to encourage the study of Cornish history and Cornish culture. Its goal is to provide educational resources to people of all ages, but especially to children and young people of secondary school age. Recent projects include providing every secondary school in Cornwall with a reference pack of 14 authoritative books on Cornish history and setting up a book bursary scheme for students of the Institute of Cornish Studies at Tremough.
"I think we're brilliant in Cornwall for all our wonderful cultural stuff," said Kernow King. "I'm keen to encourage more people to find out about Cornish culture and history."
