Glorious sunshine and light winds prevailed for the first day of match play of the Cornwall County Ladies' Golf Association's county championships at Tehidy Park.
Top qualifier Sammie Giles won through to the second round, together with veteran Judith Ryder (6/5).
Home member Rachael Lloyd-Phillips had a tough match but scraped home 1up. Juniors Emily Toy and Eugenie Knight enjoyed comfortable wins.
In the afternoon, Giles cruised through to the 1st semi-final and will play past champion Rachael Lloyd-Phillips who got the better of Judith Ryder.
The two juniors 15-year-old Emily Toy and 16-year-old Eugenie Knight play each other in the other semi-final.
In the Plate for the 2nd 16 qualifiers Vicky Lee-Comyn went down 19 to claim a place against Sarah Sandercock in one semi-final, while Charlotte Britton and Lyn Saget had good wins to play in the other semi-final.
In the Advanced Plate for 1st round losers Carmel Connors meets Paula Coleman and Lynn Brookes meets Jan Sargeant in the 2nd round.
