Plans to build the world's first pasty drive-thru in Cornwall have suffered a setback after local councillors voted against them. The idea in Helston was first proposed last August by entrepreneur Ken Cocking, who said he had been looking for a suitable site to launch the venture for a decade. But the plans received a blow on Thursday when Helston Town Council voted to recommend refusal, saying they would have a detrimental effect on the town.
